The Security Department strives to create a safe environment for those using the Library and serves to protect the collections from damage or theft.
Entering the Library:
Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and students must show a BuzzCard when entering the library. Visitors must sign in at the Security Desk with a picture ID.
Extended Hours Access:
Access between Midnight and 7:30am is restricted to Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and students only. At Midnight all patrons without a BuzzCard must leave the building. To enter after Midnight, press the buzzer at the entrance and show your BuzzCard.
Security during extended hours:
Security can escort you to the Stingerette or your vehicle in nearby parking lots.
Security can call Stingerette (operates 6pm
- 2:30am) or a taxi.
Lost & Found:
Security handles all lost & found items.
Food and Drink Policy:
The Library allows users to consume snack food and non-alcoholic beverages in the building. Users are requested to consume heavy items such as sandwiches and salads exclusively in the Jazzman's Cafe' area on the 1 East. No food or drink may be brought into the Neely Lobby, the Rare Book Room or Archives area.
