History of the Atomic Energy for Industry Conference
The Atomic Energy for Industry Conference was held on the Georgia Tech campus on October 28, 1954. Georgia Tech's Engineering Experiment Station and Auburn Research Foundation sponsored the conference. Numerous individuals spoke at the conference, such as J. O. Lane, director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratories, and Lt. Gen. Leslie R. Groves, former director of the Manhattan Project.
