Biography of John Stinson Cook
A native of Atlanta, John Stinson Cook graduated from Georgia Tech in 1937 with a B. S. in General Science. He was involved with the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity on campus.
One of Cook's relatives was John Carr Cook, a vice president and chief engineer with the J. B. McCrary Company.Joseph Boyd McCrary, an 1891 Mechanical Engineering graduate of Georgia Tech, owned this company.

Description
The John Stinson Cook papers include materials collected by both John Stinson Cook, and his relativeJohn Carr Cook. The Physics Lecture notebook, kept by John Carr Cook, includes class notes and sketches from October 4, 1900 to May 30, 1901.
The J. B. McCrary Company advertisement names John Carr Cook as the second Vice President and Chief Engineer to the municipal works consultant company. The paper broadside itself is in poor condition and had been taped together prior to its donation to the archives.
The Honor Day Exercises Program and Commencement Invitation date from 1937, the year John Stinson Cook graduated. The invitation is a leather booklet that outlines the five-day Commencement Ceremony and lists all the graduates by their degrees earned.
