Biographical/Historical Note

The Georgia Tech Masonic Club was formed in 1949 as a campus organization open to faculty, staff, and students who were Master Masons. Masonic Clubs serve as community service groups nationwide. Sigma Alpha Chi, also known as the Square and Compass, is the national fraternity of the brethren. The campus club was affiliated with the National League of Masonic Clubs, but officially became inactive four years later in December 1953.

Scope and Content Note

These records include by-laws, which detail the initiation process for new members, meeting minutes, attendance logs, and financial records. The fifth folder consists of brochures, newsletters, and the history of the National League of Masonic Clubs. The faculty advisors list details faculty advisors for all campus organizations in 1950.
