Abstract:William A. Cashin Jr. graduated from Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering in 1955. This collection includes class notes and tests from his time as a student.

Biographical/Historical Note

William Anthony ("Bill") Cashin, Jr., was born on August 10, 1933 in Augusta, Georgia. He is the son of William Cashin, Sr. (ca. 1902-February 15, 2000) and Sarah M. Cashin (ca. 1909-April 6, 1991). Cashin was the older of two sons.

In 1951, Bill Cashin enrolled in the Georgia Institute of Technology as an electrical engineering major. While at Tech, he was a member of the Bulldog Club, the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, the Interfraternity Council, and the Newman Club. He was also the secretary and later the vice-president of the Theta Chi Fraternity (Alpha Nu chapter). His younger brother Joseph E. Cashin was also a member of Theta Chi at Georgia Tech (Class of 1959).

After graduating from Tech in 1955, Bill Cashin moved back to Augusta, where he married Jane (b.1938). As of 2011, both Bill and Jane Cashin were still living in Augusta.

Scope and Content Note

This collection includes tests and Blue Books from William Cashin's time as a Georgia Tech student. The collection also contains a notebook of class notes from 1952, as well as a handout on how to plan for graduate school.
