Abstract:This collection contains material compiled by Vincent Zarzaca during his time as a student at Georgia Tech, including several receipts and letters about housing, information about purchasing a class ring, registration documents, and a faculty-student directory.

Biographical/Historical Note

Vincent Thomas Zarzaca (b. 1929), known as "Vince," graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1955 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. He received an M.S. in Management in 1966, also from Georgia Tech.

Born May 1, 1929, in Burlington, New Jersey, Zarzaca began attending the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1947 and continued until about 1949, when he took some time off to join the military. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps between about 1950 and 1952, during the Korean War, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant by the spring of 1952. Returning to Tech by the spring of 1954, he finished his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering in 1955. During his undergraduate years, he was a member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers, Alpha Pi Mu (an honor society for Industrial and Structural Engineering students), the Society for the Advancement of Management, and the Newman Club. He again returned to Tech during the 1960s, earning his M.S. in Management in 1966.

During his career, Zarzaca resided mainly in the Atlanta area, serving as a Manager for Delta Airlines, and later as the Director of Facilities Engineering for Rosser International, Inc. He and his wife, Joyce Bowen Zarzaca, have six children.

This collection contains material compiled by Vincent Zarzaca during his time as a student at Georgia Tech. The collection contains registration and housing related documents, a faculty-student directory issued by the university, and receipts and papers regarding a class ring.
