Biographical/Historical Note

The Georgia Tech Women's Forum (GTWF) was founded in 1981. The forum was a non-profit organization open to any individual employed by Georgia Tech. The group created a constitution of standing rules in 1983, including a statement of purpose, which indicated the group's desire to act as a support system for Tech's women employees.

The GTWF supported campus improvements, such as the 1988 proposal for an on-campus child care facility. This organization also brought speakers to campus who addressed issues pertinent to working women. The group currently focuses on being involved in student activites encouraging academic excellence among female students.
