Abstract:The Technique newspaper documents student life during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries on the Georgia Tech campus. This collection is available in analog form, and some volumes are also available digitally.
Note:Access to the print version of this collection is available through an onsite visit to the Georgia Tech Archives (call number: T171 .G46 T4X). Access to digital issues since 2000 as well as to many of the volumes and numbers prior to that date can be obtained through Georgia Tech's institutional repository, SMARTech (http://smartech.gatech.edu/handle/1853/7740).

Biographical/Historical Note

Founded in 1911, the Technique is the student newspaper of the Georgia Institute of Technology and an official publication of the Georgia Tech Board of Student Publications. Subtitled "The South's Liveliest College Newspaper,"at the time of writing (October 2009) the Technique prints on Fridays weekly during the fall and spring, and biweekly during the summer.


Scope and Content Note

The Technique newspaper documents student life during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries on the Georgia Tech campus. Almost a full run of the newspaper is available in print form, with the exception of the most recent issues as well as several of the issues in Volumes 2 through 9 (1912-1920) and a few of the issues in Volume 22 (1932-1933). The newest issues (from approximately 2000 to the present) are kept up to date in the online version, and all earlier issues are gradually being digitized.
