About Open Access Week

The goal of Open Access Week at Georgia Tech is to raise awareness among faculty and students of the concept of open access and their options as authors, editors, reviewers, society members, and teachers for ensuring the widest possible access to research. In the words of Peter Suber, a policy strategist for open access to research, open access content "is digital, online, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions. What makes it possible is the internet and the consent of the author or copyright-holder." http://www.earlham.edu/~peters/fos/brief.htm We celebrate open access each year during the international Open Access Week event.
