Data Management Plan

While it's good practice for all research projects to develop and follow a data management plan, you may be required to include a data management plan with your grant application, depending on your funding agency.

The DMPTool, a web application developed by a group of American research universities in response to new requirements for data management plans, can be used to help you develop your data management plan. Log in with your Georgia Tech credentials to get support customized for the Georgia Tech community.

The Library is also here to help, whether you have a quick question about your plan, need assistance getting started, or would like your plan to be reviewed before it is submitted with your grant application.

Work is currently underway to develop a collection of example data management plans written by Georgia Tech researchers. If you have a plan you would like to contribute, please contact us. In the meantime, please see the collection of example plans compiled by the University of California, San Diego or the collection of plans other investigators have made public, which is maintained at the DMPTool.
