  Map Checkout
Most maps are available for check out and for inter-library loan to other libraries.
However, atlases are for in-house use only.
 
Aerial Photographs
The Library has a modest collection of historical aerial photographs covering the metropolitan Atlanta area. Years covered are 1967, 1972, 1988, 1990, 1995, 1996, and 1997.

Aeronautical Charts
TPC (Tactical Pilotage Charts) 1:500000, ONC (Operational Navigation Charts) 1:000000, JNC (Jet Navigation Charts) 1:2000000, GNC (Global Navigation Charts) 1:5000000. Indexes are in the front of the collection.

FAA Aeronautical Charts
VFR Terminal Area Charts 1:250000, Sectional Aeronautical Charts 1:500000, and World Aeronautical Charts 1:1000000.

Nautical Charts
World and U.S nautical charts are available in a variety of scales as flat and folded maps. Indexes are found in the vertical filing cabinet.

Topographic Maps
We have 1:24000 and 1:100000 topographic maps covering the U.S. The 1:24000 scale maps are grouped by state and filed by quadrangle name. Canadian topographic maps are avialable but are not updated.

Georgia Maps
The collection has state, county, and city maps.

Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps
Available electronically, see " Databases"
Also in microfilm as well as a one-book edition for the immediate downtown.

Soil Surveys
Soil Surveys for the U.S. are available by county and are located in the Government Documents section. Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, and Gwinnett are behind the desk in Special Formats and Maps.

CIA Maps
CIA maps cover the world and are located in the vertical filing cabinet.

Geological Survey Maps
The library has an extensive collection of Geological Survey envelope maps from the Interior Department.

Read Estate Atlases
Redi Real Estate atlases and the accompanying microfiche cover the Atlanta area counties and are replaced with updated editions. For Fulton County only all editions are kept.
