Digital Cameras & Camcorders

All items are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk in the LEC and are 4 hour in-building use items unless noted otherwise. 

We are happy to provide the GT community with a variety of equipment and accessories.  In order to ensure equal access for everyone, overdue fines may be assessed at the rate of $1.00 per hour unless noted otherwise.

• Digital Cameras (2 day out of building use)

  Point and shoot type Canon Powershot SD410 (4 megapixel) and Powershot SD1000 (7 megapixel).  The cameras come complete with a flash storage card, case, USB cable, manual and a battery charger.  Overdue fines for general circulation are $5.00 per day. 

  The Library also has several short-term loan cameras available for those who need to take a few quick shots.  Please ask at the Circulation Desk for details and availability.

• MiniDV Camcorders (1 week out of the building use)

  Canon ZR 40, ZR 100, and ZR 850 MiniDV camcorders.  They come complete with a case, firewire/USB cable, video input cable, manual and a power cord/adapter.  Mini DV tapes are not included but are required for operation.  Tapes may be purchased for $5.00 at the Circulation desk.  The ZR 850 camcorders may be reserved, while the ZR 40 and ZR 100 offerings are available on a first come, first served basis.  Overdue fines for all camcorders in general circulation are $5.00 per day. 

  We have also reserved a line of higher quality Panasonic PV-GS380 MiniDV Camcorders for class video production use. They may be reserved in advance by the instructor. For questions and reservations, contact Joey Fones in the Circulation Department.

• Film/Slide Scanning Adapters

  Nikon film/slide adapters and Epson photo scanning templates (each template set has 3 plates).  These are scanning supplies for digitizing 35mm and 120/220 film and slides.

• GorillaPods (24 hour out of building use)

  Similar to a mini-tripod, the gorillapods have flexible yet strong joints that allow you to use it on uneven surfaces, or even to wrap it around objects.  It has a standard attachment that fits most cameras and camcorders. 

• Headsets

  Behind-the-head style with adjustable microphone and in-line volume controls.

• Multi-Card Media Reader

  Dazzle USB Media Card Reader with USB 2.0 connection.  This item can read many different formats of Flash media commonly used in digital cameras.

• Peripheral Cables

  We have a line of USB and Firewire peripheral cables to help you manage your cameras, camcorders, and other devices.  They are gold plated and provide exceptional transfer rates.

• Tripods (24 hour out of building use)

  Standard tripods for most any camera or camcorder. 

• Support

  For suggestions or questions regarding policies, procedures, hardware and operations, check with the Circulation Department.
