Resource Acquisitions Librarian

The Resource Acquisitions Librarian provides leadership and direction related to content acquisition including ordering, access provision, maintenance, and renewal of resources in all formats. As a member of the Library’s growing Technical Services Department, this librarian will collaborate with other Technical Services librarians and staff to streamline workflows and enhance the acquisitions process to ensure the ethical and responsible purchase of resources. This librarian will facilitate the procurement process by developing strong relationships with vendors, subject selectors, and other members of the Georgia Tech community to acquire materials and resources needed for their research and academic endeavors. The Resource Acquisitions librarian will also serve on as an Ex Officio member of the Content Management Group and will provide expert advice to assist in determining resources allocation that supports the Library and Institute’s strategic priorities. This position will work closely with the Assistant Dean for Collections Strategy and Development to reconcile procurement activities to provide transparency and good stewardship of resource allocation.

The Georgia Tech Library invites early career librarians and archivists from diverse backgrounds to apply for our diversity residency position. The position is designed to provide an early-career librarian and/or archivist with an opportunity for rapid professional growth while bringing new perspectives and fresh ideas to the Georgia Tech Library and will last up to two years. The first year of the program will be dedicated to orientation to the profession of academic librarianship and/or archival work through experience in units within the library. These units include Public Services, Community Engagement and Scholarly Outreach, Archives and Special Collections, IT, Technical Services, and Administration. The Resident will be assigned a mentor and home unit based on their career interests to serve as a base while they explore all included units within the library.
