Cynthia Kutka

Cynthia joined Georgia Tech as the Business & Entrepreneurship Librarian in January 2019. In this role, she manages the Library’s commercialization information service that provides actionable business, market, competitor, and IP information exclusively to Georgia Tech inventors and entrepreneurs. The commercialization of innovation and entrepreneurship at Georgia Tech aligns with Tech’s vision of “creating the next real-world solutions” for business and technology and supports the overarching mission of excellence in scholarship and research, expanding our global profile, and service to the public.

Cynthia also serves as a Library liaison to the Scheller College of Business, collaborating with business faculty and providing services and resources to support the instruction and research mission of the College. 

Half of Cynthia’s career experience involves information retrieval, management, and analysis. In this role, she held positions in academic business libraries, a federal government library, and in corporate market and competitive intelligence. The other key component of her experience is in legal business consulting and project management. As a consultant, she specializes in the business and technology aspects of intellectual property strategy and management in corporate IP legal departments and law firms.

Cynthia holds masters’ degrees in business and in library & information science from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She began her undergraduate education at the University of the Philippines.
