Library seeks Olympic materials for 30th anniversary exhibit

The Georgia Tech Library is working on a 2026 public exhibit for the 30th anniversary of the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and is looking for your photos, videos, and stories to help supplement Institute archives.

“We’re hard at work on our next exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the games that put Atlanta, and Georgia Tech, on the map in terms of worldwide exposure,” said Jody Thompson, Assistant Dean for Archives, Records Management & Digital Curation. “We would love to include personal artifacts, photos, videos, stories and more to ensure the depth and breadth of the games and their impact is felt by visitors.”

Thompson said all submissions will be added to Georgia Tech’s Archives, ensuring future generations can access them in perpetuity. Not all submissions will be used in the exhibit, she said, but all will be will be preserved and made available through the Archives digital repository.
