Exploring Lost Worlds: John P Moore's The Martian Trilogy

Join Regents Professor of Science Fiction Studies Lisa Yaszek in the Scholars Event Theater on the first floor of Price Gilbert on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for a discussion of the recently published The Martian Trilogy: John P. Moore, Amazing Stories, Black Science Fiction, and the Illustrated Feature Section.

Participants in the volume will join Yaszek to explore John P. Moore's rediscovered contributions to science fiction. Through the conversation, attendees will learn more about the thriving Black science-fiction community of the 1930s, the role of historical research and contemporary literary scholarship, and how Georgia Tech students worked to recover and reexamine the lost worlds of Moore's The Martian Trilogy.
