SciFinder WEB

To use SciFinder WEB you must first REGISTER and create your own SciFinder username and password.

To perform structure searches, a Java plug-in (Java Runtime Environment update, JRE) must be installed and available to your computer [download Java plug-in].

SciFinder MOBILE

Visit (http://scifinder.cas.org/mobile) via the web browser on your smartphone, and sign in with your SciFinder username and password, for access to the mobile-friendly version of SciFinder. 

No need to download an app and no restrictions to the number of simultaneous users.

Register

 SciFinder WEB Registration

  1. Click the "SciFinder WEB Registration" link above.
  2. Click Next.
  3. Enter your name and e-mail address. 
    NOTE: You must enter your official GT e-mail address ending in ‘gatech.edu’. Other fields are optional.
  4. Specify a username. Must be unique and contain 5-15 characters. It can contain only letters or a combination of letters and numbers.
  5. Specify a password. Must contain 7-15 characters & must include at least 3 of the following:
    • Letters
    • Mixed upper & lowercase letters
    • Numbers
    • Non-alphanumeric characters: @, #, %, &, *
  6. Select a security question from the drop-down list and provide the answer.
  7. Click Register.
  8. A message will display indicating that you will receive an e-mail message from CAS at the address you provided on the above form.
  9. Open and read the e-mail message from CAS.
  10. If you accept the terms and conditions for using SciFinder, click the link within the e-mail message to complete the registration process.
